Fairbrook Medical Centre

Fairbrook Medical Centre has been established for over 50 years and serves Borehamwood as well as parts of Elstree and Shenley. Our team includes GPs, Nurses, Healthcare Assistant as well as our Practice Manager, our Deputy Practice Manager, Reception and Administrative Staff.

Comprehensive Care

At Fairbrook we offer a full general practice service and in addition run specialist clinics for children, diabetics, asthma and COPD sufferers, patients with a history of coronary heart disease, patients requiring long-term wound care, and women who are pregnant or postnatal. Contact Hertfordshire and South Midlands on  on 01707 361 204 for services we do not provide.  We are also a Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre for the locality.

High Standards

It is our central aim to provide a high standard of medical and nursing care to all our patients. We aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. We feel it is important for you to know who you are speaking to, so our practice staff all wear name badges and identify themselves on the phone.

This website is designed for both existing patients and those considering registering with us. It tells you about our services, how to access them and some general information about how our practice operates.

Patient Information  updated 08.05.17

We have asked NHS England if we could close our lists for 12 months but we have only been allowed to close for 3 months. Therefore our list is now open.

It is important that all new patients and our current patients are informed that we currently have 2 full time GP partner vacancies.  Despite advertising, we have not been able to appoint new partners.  There are so may GP surgeries also looking to recruite.  We are also struggling to get locum Doctors.  This is putting an enormous pressure on our already oversubscribed appointment system and on the workload for the doctors who are left working at Fairbrook Medical Centre.

Therefore we would like to make you aware that we cannot guarantee you getting an appointment at the time you require and we also cannot guarantee you will see the same doctor every time.

There are other local surgeries that are available to register patients and we would recommend you consider registering with one of these surgeries.  Details of these surgeries can be found on the NHS Choices website www.nhs.uk
