Total Patient Triage

Fairbrook Medical Centre now uses a Total Patient Triage system. This allows us to be able to prioritise patients by clinical need and navigating patients to the most appropriate clinician or pathway.

Clinical Research

Fairbrook Medical Centre is now a Research Active Practice â€“ what that means for you

Why we’re doing this
Research is how the NHS discovers better ways to diagnose, treat and prevent illness. By opening our doors to National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) studies, we can help shape tomorrow’s care while offering patients early access to new ideas and treatments. Research really does change lives, and it starts in local surgeries like ours.

What taking part might look like

  • A short questionnaire, a text invitation to join a study, or a chat with your clinician during an appointment, research can be as simple as sharing your experience or as involved as trying a new treatment.
  • Every study is checked by strict ethics and safety regulators before it reaches the practice.
  • You choose: joining is always voluntary, and saying “no thank-you” will never affect the care you receive from us.

Your information stays safe
If you are invited, you’ll get a clear information sheet explaining what data (if any) the study team can see. Nothing leaves the practice without your consent, and most studies use anonymous data only.

Why you might say “yes”

  • Learn more about your condition and contribute to treatments that could help others.
  • Access interventions that aren’t yet widely available.
  • Join a community of patients, carers and staff who want to improve healthcare together.

Not for you? No problem
Just let reception know and we’ll make sure you don’t receive research invitations in future. You can also change your mind at any time.
