STOMP – stopping the over-medication of people with a learning disability

This is a national programme to reduce the prescribing of psychotropic medication to people with learning disability especially where there is no evidence of a diagnosed psychiatric illness. Medication review is part of the Learning Disability Annual Health check.  If a patient is found to be on an antidepressant or anti-psychotic medication during the medication review as part of the Annual Health check please contact the Community Learning Disability Nurses (CLDN) attached to the practice.  They can provide support with risk assessment for STOMP if appropriate.
